RM Bridge Modeler Help

Units

Internal units of the RM Modeler database are "Meter" [m] for lengths, "Radians" [rad] for angles and "Degrees Celsius" [C] for temperatures. The units can be configured, that the values in all output and input windows will displayed in the user defined units.

The following length units are supported

  • Meter [m]
  • Centimetre [cm] (0.0100 [m])
  • Millimetre [mm] (0.0010 [m])
  • Feet [ft] (0.3048 [m])
  • Inch ["] (0.0254 [m])
  • Other The factor to the internal unit [m] has to be entered by the user.
Note: The default for length unit is "Meter" [m].

The units for defining axes (unit for structures) and cross sections may differ.

The following angle units are supported

  • Radians [rad]
  • Degrees [deg] (PI / 180.0 [rad])
  • Grades [grd] (PI / 200.0 [rad])
  • Other The factor to the internal unit [rad] has to be entered by the user.
Note: The default for angle unit is "Degrees" [deg].

The following temperature units are supported

  • Degrees Celsius [C]
  • Degrees Fahrenheit [F] (1.8 [C] for temperature differences)
  • Other The factor to the internal unit [C] has to be entered by the user.
Note: The default for temperatures is "Degrees Celsius" [C].
Attention: Modification of units of a non-empty project

The result of a formula expression is taken as defined in the currently configured unit for the variable the expression has to be assigned to. That means, the used tables and formulas have to be defined for the currently set units.

The abcissa of a table (= stationing) is taken as defined in the currently configured length unit of the structure (except tables, that are used for cable and cross member segments).
